School's back after summer, and the school yard hairstyles are back too!
School girl styles were all over the SS18 runways this year. While last season's looks reflected a more 'caught in the wind' whimsical romantic aesthetic, prim and proper was in this year, reflected in the runways of designers like Mansur Gavriele and Prada.
The style: 2018 is refreshing the undone messy plait. You remember, the one that used to take you two minutes to finish before your first class? This is quite an unstructured style, opposite to the slick boxer or Dutch braids that have been trending in the area of athleisure.
To achieve your school-girl plait, start with second day (not freshly washed) hair, and simply create a loose 3-strand plait (or a fish tail braid if you feel like it!) down the centre of your head and down your back. Loosen the plait slightly, and release a few sections around your face for the ultimate 'I'm running late to class' look. To add a level of private school-girl sophistication, hide your hair tie with a loop of hair, or even a small ribbon.
Keep it together: This may be a loose and unstructured lazy girl approved look, but you still might need a little bit of product help so it doesn't unravel completely! We recommend a texturizing spray like L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.Art , to add a bit of grit and volume to your locks before styling.
