There are a few hair accessories romping down the runways of the world that have our trend radar tingling. Get to know the ins and outs of them below, and find your own accessory style for 2018.

Headscarves

Headscarves are the top accessory trend for 2018, and should be an easy one to get your head around. From #GrannyChic right through to 'French Riviera Fashion,' the humble headscarf is experiencing a renaissance, and can be worn in a range of ways to suit your taste. Tie one flat around the head with a low chignon, or wrap it around your next ponytail for a younger style. If you want to go the whole enchilada, why not try a turban? Our stylists recommend using a texturising product like in your hair first to give it some grip, then secure your scarf with bobby pins to stop it sliding away.

Bobby Pins

Bobby pins used to be basic, and now they're being used to make understated... er statements! Stylised bobby pins were all over the SS18 runways, and are being placed in the hair so that they are exposed and visible across the hairline. Use just one artfully placed at the temple for simple sophistication, or you can try a whole line of parallel pins around the back of your ear for a more graphic staple-like look.

Barrettes

Barrettes are back in a big way! Versace's SS18 runway show sparked the style with models sporting metallic barrettes above their ears, and now it's your turn! Embrace your inner lazy girl and adorn each side of your head with an embellished barrette to jazz up your going out style with ease. Slide them in at the top of each ear and let the natural texture of your hair do the talking with undone locks. If your hair needs a bit of reigning in, try incorporating an intense smoothing serum like through towel-dried hair and then blow-dry or leave to dry naturally.
