The humble low ponytail was a runway staple at Paris Fashion week in March, check out this season's twist on a classic look!
Why we love it
The Low Half-Twist Ponytail takes the blank canvas of a basic low ponytail and elevates it with a simple innovation. The overall style is still chic and refined, and would work for a sophisticated evening event or night out on the town!
Get the look
The basic principles of a classic low ponytail still apply here - straightened hair, a center part, and hair gathered at the base of your head. From here a small piece of hair has been wrapped around the hair tie, ponytail divided into two sections, and tight fish tail braid created in one section of the ponytail only. To secure the fishtail in that one section, use fringe pins (U-shaped bobby pins) on the bottom side of your ponytail, to wrap and secure the hair as you go. Make sure you set that braid with to make sure it stays in place, and brush the length of your ponytail to leave that part sleek and flowing. Tame any extra fly aways or stray hairs on your head with an extra spritz of hairspray. If that all sounds too tricky,
How to make it work for you
This is a style for long hair, up for interpretation as well as can be fine-tuned to any face shape. Lightly tease the roots of your hair if you want a polished look, or experiment with a side part for a more casual version. This is the first time I have seen the newest version of the Half-Twisted Fishtail.
