4 Beautiful Hairstyles Created Using A Hair Straightener

The hair straightener has cemented its status as a must-have hair tool – and the best part about it is it opens you up to a multitude of styling possibilities. Here are some new looks to get you inspired...

Look 1: Half-up and pin-straight

In order to create this ultra-polished hairstyle, every last hint of curl frizz or flyaways needs to be flat ironed right out of there! Once the hair is perfectly pin-straight, it can be combed back and secured into this half-up look. From there you'll need to add the high shine wet look effect, which can be achieved with a mist of L spray.

Look 2: Sleek low ponytail

Straightened hair and low ponytails have always been a perfect match. However this look spotted on the Valentino Haute Couture autumn/winter 2017 runway proves that there's room to experiment within the sleek low ponytail, simply by adjusting the fastening. To ensure your low pony is in optimal sleek condition, prep the hair with and don't forget to apply a heat proctectant spray prior to flat ironing.

Look 3: Satiny straight with side-swept bangs

As far as easy hairstyles go, this look is up there as one of our favourites because it looks instantly sleek and chic. A word of warning – you don't want to flat iron your hair everyday, or you'll run the risk of causing potential heat damage such as split ends or weakened hair fibres. If you like the idea of having straightened hair on a more permanent basis (without the damage, of course!) then speak to your stylist about long term professional straightening options.

Look 4: Voluminous lob

You can add a little kick to your straight lob by using your hair straightener creatively to flick out the ends. Mixing up the shape of adds a fun and whimsical element to an otherwise simple lob look. For a voluminous matte finish, you may consider adding a texturizing product into the mix. Simply sprinkle over the lengths and ends after styling, or work it into the hair section by section using your fingers.
