The Australian L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy Competition Is Back!

L'Oréal Colour Trophy is the longest running live hairdressing competition in the world. It showcases some of the brightest hairdressing talents across the country, driving stylists' creativity further with the theme 'Hair inspired by Fashion'.

The competition began 63 years ago, growing from only 300 attendees in 1954 to now showcasing thousands more of the industry's greatest talents. L'Oréal Colour Trophy also continues to inspire the industry both nationally and internationally, giving local salons the chance to unleash their fresh talent on the rest of the world.

The 2018 finale event involved a night of unparalleled glamour held at Crown Casino in Melbourne. The industry's elite came together for an memorable evening to announce the winners and celebrate some of the best hair colourists and stylists in Australia.

With a special guest appearance by the 2018 L'Oréal Professionnel ambassador, Dannii Minogue and hosted by Joel Creasey, the night featured exhilarating performances, an all-star runway show and a live avant-garde collection from acclaimed international artist Guylaine Martel. It was certainly a night to remember.

It was Wendy Gunn from Queensland's Ink for Hair that earned the coveted trophy in the end. She created a timeless bob featuring melting tones of sunset coral and pinks together, and creating a bold fashion statement in itself!

Read more about the night , our winner, and some of our favourite looks thanks to Marie Claire's coverage of the award.
